BOISE, Idaho — A new report released by USNews ranking all 50 States based off of a number of factors like economy, crime and corrections, education, health care, natural environment, fiscal stability, and many others has ranked Idaho the #3 best overall states.
The report weighted some categories more than others based on a survey of what matters most to people. Health care and education for example were weighted most heavily.
Our neighbors Utah and Washington rounded out the top of the list, with Utah being ranked #1 overall. Things didn't fare quite as well for Oregon, which came in at #23 on the list. Crime and corrections, fiscal stability, and education dragged the Beaver State down in the rankings.
While education ranking for Idaho came in at #22, the economy, fiscal stability, and crime and corrections helped to boost the Gem State to the #3 overall spot.
